DiacriticsRemoved()

Dotless / DotsRemoved: return the content with dots stripped from "i" and "j" (Unicode "Latin Letter Dotless I" / "Dotless J"). Lossy on purpose -- meant for the typographic effect, not for round-trippable encoding. Port from archive line 93405. DiacriticsRemoved: strip combining diacritic codepoints from the content. Uses NFD normalisation to decompose accented letters into base + combining marks, then drops any codepoint in the combining ranges: U+0300-U+036F Combining Diacritical Marks (Latin etc.) U+0610-U+061A Arabic U+064B-U+065F Arabic Tashkil (Fatha, Damma, ...) U+06D6-U+06ED Arabic supplementals U+0951-U+0954 Vedic / Devanagari
